In a league of it's own...

Being in the real estate business–in the summer–in the lakes region–is no fun for our kids to endure. So on my way to moving up to Prudential Spencer Hughes, I looked up a place my daughter could have much more fun in than following me from showing to showing or open house to meetings. That’s when by chance I found High Meadow Farms.

Great for beginners...

Sue is a wonderful person and talented instructor. She is able to take her students through the stages of getting acquainted with the horses, how to interact with them, how to groom them, and how to gear up. She conducts her classes in a professional, yet warm and relaxed environment, which is great for beginners. She instills her students with knowledge and confidence.

Views like no other...

Sue Ballentine, owner and trainer, is a petite woman with a wide smile, calm disposition and seemingly strong as –well a horse– She inspires every student. They come out with a true working knowledge about horses, and the business of horses, while making the experience fun and memorable for all. Her facility is by far the best I have seen with views like no other.

Proud...smiling parents

The horses are well cared for and live in a paradise even us people who drive a horseless carriage can appreciate. Each horse has a personality, and every kid has their favorite–Pork chop is my daughter’s favorite. The main barn is beautiful and clean and full of young riders scampering about doing their chores with joy–if only we could see that joy in our own homes when it comes to chores. Every Friday our kids get to show off their weeks’ worth of riding skills to all us proud camera toting, video taking smiling parents.

Nieces volunteer for chores...

My nieces absolutely loved learning to ride and working with Sue. Sue provides a warm and nurturing atmosphere bringing out the best in her students. Students can progress along at their own pace and have opportunities to participate in competitions. Summer Camp was a great experience for the girls, students become close friends and encourage one another and the property itself is set in a beautiful location with outstanding views. Sue allows students to stay beyond their lesson or even just to stop by to help out with chores around the barn and caring for the horses… it’s the only time I’ve seen my nieces volunteer for and love doing chores! There were times when they spent all day working on the farm!

The horse whisperer...

Sue has spent her life around horses and I would say qualifies as a Horse Whisperer

Highly recommended...

I have taken both my children to Sue’s farm for years and would highly recommend her. She can work with all types of children and has a beautiful horse farm with many horses. Safety is her first priority. My children have learned proper care of horses as well as proper riding technique. Sue is always on hand to teach and supervise. In addition, she returns calls in a timely manner.

Patient & helpful to an ||older|| rider...

I started riding at age 71 at my daughter’s ranch in southwest Colorado during the summers – mostly trail rides on a variety of horses. When I came back home to Florida I decided I needed some lessons. Sue was very patient and helpful in providing instruction to an “older” rider.
